The learning experience platform (LXP) feels like a recent development, but there were companies as long ago as 2008 touting platforms that looked a lot like what we now know as an LXP. Almost as soon as the LXP started to achieve mainstream use, it began evolving new features and capabilities to meet the changing needs of organizations, driven by macro changes in working patterns, employee expectations and technological capabilities.
