So, given the scary nature of cyberattacks, Surfshark came up with an appropriate guide to what we need to look out for. Using classic scary films and nail-biting thrillers as inspiration, they created 5 movie posters highlighting the most common types of cyberattacks.
There's a Jordan Peele inspired movie poster warning you not to get caught up in online phishing scams. Like the evil characters in Peele's 2017 movie Get Out, phishers pretend to be your friend to lure you into their disturbing plans.
Surfshark borrowed from Alfred Hitchcock's noir-classic Vertigo to create a poster for Copycat. It warns about the dangers of identity theft.
The work of master director Ridley Scott is the inspiration for 'The Eye,' a dystopian sci-fi story exploring the spooky side of facial recognition software.
There's also a Blair Witch style poster for the Pegasus Project, a movie about spyware.
And those overwhelming DDoS attacks are the subject of a Shaun of the Dead and The World's End inspired-movie called Game Over.
